The main methods to address water ingress in the lubricating oil of permanent magnet variable frequency (PMVF) air compressors are as follows:
1、Install an automatic blowdown solenoid valveMount an automatic blowdown solenoid valve at the blowdown port at the bottom of the oil-water separator, and set the automatic blowdown interval to 2 minutes with a blowdown duration of 5 seconds. In this way, without affecting the normal operation of the air compressor, the operating time of the air compressor can be effectively extended by increasing the blowdown duration of the separator, meeting the minimum operating time requirement of the air compressor.
2、Replace the pipeline check valve and install an oil-water separatorTechnicians may replace the pipeline check valve with a better sealing performance at the outlet pipeline of the air compressor and install an oil-water separator with high water removal efficiency. The oil-water separator adopts a precision filter element for internal filtration, intercepts water and oil in the compressed air through cyclonic separation, inertial collision separation and fine fiber filtration, and discharges them through the blowdown port, meeting the demand for high-pressure gas.
3、Address the issue of condensation accumulationEnsure the air compressor has a sufficient minimum operating time to prevent the formation of dew condensation. The minimum operating time is generally not less than 10 minutes to ensure the air compressor is heated to a temperature high enough to evaporate condensed water.
4、Resolve excessive water content in exhaust gasDue to the long shutdown time of PMVF air compressors, water generated from exhaust gas may accumulate around the pipelines and check valves, leading to water backflow into the chassis. It is imperative to regularly inspect and clean the water around the pipelines and check valves to avoid a gradual increase in the water content of the lubricating oil.
5、Maintain the gas-water separatorAlthough a PMVF air compressor is equipped with a gas-water separator, its actual operation effect may be unsatisfactory. It is essential to regularly inspect the working performance of the gas-water separator and conduct necessary maintenance or replacement to ensure the effective separation of water generated during the compression process.
By adopting these measures, the problem of water ingress in the lubricating oil of PMVF air compressors can be effectively resolved, which ensures the normal operation of the air compressors and extends their service life.
